I tried something different today, I cannot be bound within regime for too long, I need to find my own ways of doing things. I sat on my mat, listening to some very simple marimba based ‘meditation music’ (Yes I have very strong opinions on this particular category of music, most of it is either fraudulent or nauseatingly cliched but that rant is for another day). I allowed my body to move as it wished, getting the kinks out but in free fluid movements rather than the traditional stretches I usually do. I kept my eyes closed and allowed the sounds to direct my movement. I did this for about 10 minutes and the space-time was broken when my kids, who had left me alone for long enough (10 minutes right!) pushed open the door and sheepishly marched in, taking up the usual on bed (that’s Light) and under bed (that’s Marla) positions. The little pests. Now I shall do some guided meditation, then sweep and mop the floor, wash and hopefully be ready for a long day of teaching and tested patience.
